IFSAC Fire Instructor I skills exam
You will have two random skills, and one presentation skill. (Skill sheet #5)
Following are the requirements for the presentation skills test:
20-25 minutes classroom presentation. Use appropriate media, such as PowerPoints, handouts etc. (PowerPoint is the most common)
Videos not to exceed 2 minutes of presentation.
Must be fire service related. (Most choose a partial chapter from FF I but not required.) You may select a portion from the middle of a PowerPoint as long as it is in order and includes the objectives, I.E. using slides 30-68 for your 20 minutes.
As a reminder at the Fire Instructor I level you are not allowed to modify/edit any media.
A training aid for demonstration, such as a length of rope for ropes and knots, SCBA for SCBA, etc.
This may not be co-instructed, you are required to teach a 20 minute presentation solo.
Bring a printed copy of the instructors guide for the section you are teaching for the evaluator.
No cell phones, pagers or other electronics will be allowed in the staging area.
No study materials will be allowed in the staging area.
