How do I register for classes? Navigate to the class you are interested in attending and click on “Add to Shopping Cart,” then proceed through checkout. If you register online, you may use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express and you will be immediately enrolled. If you wish to pay by check, complete the registration form and mail it, along with your check to: Workforce Training & Continuing Education, 1600 S. 25th E., Idaho Falls, ID 83406. Please ensure that all the required information is completed on the form – missing information may cause a delay in processing your registration. Once we have completed your registration, we will contact you with the details of the class and to provide a receipt. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Will my credit card be saved on the website? No. Our website does not save any payment information, it acts only as a portal to the secure payment vendor. Each time you register for a class you will need to re-enter your payment information. When should I register for class? It’s best to register as soon as possible. Unless otherwise noted, registration is open until each class is filled or until two business days before each class starts. We encourage you to register early for several reasons: classes with low enrollment may be canceled and popular classes fill very quickly. Class size is limited for space and/or to ensure we can offer the highest quality of instruction. What do I do if course information in the printed catalog and the website don’t match? From time to time we need to change course details (time, date, location, etc.) after we have published the catalog. The information located on the registration website is the most accurate and up to date – please use this information, which you will also receive in your confirmation e-mail. Who can attend Workforce Training & Continuing Education classes? Advertised classes are open to everyone. Unless otherwise specified, class content is designed for adult students over the age of 18. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who are 12-16 years of age may register and attend many of the classes with a parent or guardian who has also enrolled in the class. Summer camps are offered for specific age groups and this is shown for each camp. Are there prerequisites for any classes? Certain classes may require prerequisites in the case of building upon prior knowledge or specific age restrictions. However, there are no prerequisites such as a high school diploma or GED required to take non-credit classes. Can I get college credit for a class? Classes offered through Workforce Training & Continuing Education are done so on a non-credit basis. Some of the classes include a certificate of completion and others could potentially lead to a professional certification of some kind. If this is the case, the class description will indicate the possibility. What about textbooks? Some of our classes require books. If the course description indicates that you need to purchase the book, the ISBN is provided so that you may buy the book from any vendor you choose. The bookstore at College of Eastern Idaho also carries the books. The bookstore is normally open from 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday. You may also purchase books online from the CEI bookstore. . Is there out-of-state tuition? There is no additional charge for enrolling students who are not Idaho residents. This waiver applies only to non-credit classes taken through Workforce Training & Continuing Education. How does the waiting list work? When our classes are full, students have the option to add themselves to a waiting list in the event that a spot opens. If you are the first person on the waiting list and a seat becomes available, WTCE will attempt to contact you by phone and e-mail. If contact is immediately successful, you will be offered the seat and asked for payment. If we are unsuccessful at reaching you immediately, we will give you a specified period of time to respond, depending upon the available time before the class is due to run. If you make contact within that specified time, we will accept your payment information and enroll you. If we are not able to reach you, or hear back within that specified period of time, the next person on the waiting list will be offered the seat, and so on until the seat is filled. Why are classes canceled? Every effort is made to offer all advertised classes. Credit-free courses are self-supporting (not subsidized by State or local monies), and all course-related expenses are paid from student registration fees. Our courses are subject to cancellation if a minimum enrollment is not reached; this minimum will vary by course/topic. If CEI WTCE cancels a class, you will be notified by email or phone, and your full course fee will be credited back to you. How do I get a refund? Workforce Training & Continuing Education (WTCE) is committed to offering classes that appeal to the community for both content and schedule. If you need to withdraw from a class, contact WTCE as soon as possible. All refunds can be placed as a credit on your account or it can be refunded back to you based on individual course refund procedure.
