IV Therapy for CMA

This course is specifically for Certified Medical Assistants only and has been approved through the AAMA for 15 Clinical CEU's. This is an introductory course for IV medication administration. Students who register for the course must understand that a pre-existing knowledge of IV Therapy concepts and practice precludes them from actually attending the course. Along with IV administration theory, students will learn advanced pharmacology math skills, IV therapy history, correct aseptic technique, and other information necessary to competently perform and have knowledge regarding all aspects of IV medication administration. The student will display mastery via paper/pencil test, simulated skills, demonstration, and clinical practice how to initiate, maintain and monitor short-term IV infusions.  Cost includes tuition, lab fees, malpractice insurance and manual.
