This class is presented online with the option to attend weekly lab sessions for in-person support from the instructor. An introduction to payroll accounting including setting up a new employee, calculating pay, figuring federal and state income tax withholding, FICA taxes and voluntary deductions from employee’s pay. Employer payroll expenses such as federal and state unemployment taxes will be covered as well as periodic and year end payroll reporting. A comprehensive project will be completed in QuickBooks to wrap up this course. Book included in course cost; students should expect to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week (120 hours in total) on the course to ensure they can gain the necessary skills. Mandatory first class session: Tuesday, September 24 at 5:30pm.
