The Electrical Apprenticeship Program here are the College of Eastern Idaho’s - Workforce Training. Students/Apprentices will learn the Fundamentals of Electrical Theory, the National Electrical Code, and other practical training that may be seen on the jobsite. This is the classwork portion of the apprenticeship and it is taught by a network of highly experienced Journeyman and Master Journeyman. Note: The Apprentice will also need to complete 2000 hours of on-the-job experience for each year of the apprenticeship. It is the Apprentice's responsibility to obtain employment to work under the mentorship of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician. The State of Idaho requires a minimum of 576 classroom hours (144 per year) and a minimum of 8000 hours (2000 per year) of work experience under the mentorship of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician. The apprenticeship will be complete once all classes have been passed and the hourly requirements have been met. The Apprentice will then be eligible to test for a Journeyman license.
